Privacy Policy

At Unpilot, we believe your data should stay yours. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our app. The short version: almost everything stays on your device, and we don't sell or share your data.

Data stored on your device only:

• Your name (optional, from onboarding)
• Age, gender, and selected goals
• Screen time usage and goals
• Apps you've selected to block
• Blocking sessions and schedules
• Streak data and usage history
• Custom unlock reasons you create

This data is stored locally using Apple's secure storage and is never uploaded to our servers. We cannot access it.

Unpilot uses Apple's Screen Time API (FamilyControls, ManagedSettings, and DeviceActivity frameworks) to monitor and limit app usage. This is how the blocking and usage tracking features work.

Important privacy protections:

• Apple's Screen Time API is designed with privacy in mind
• We receive anonymized app tokens, not the actual names of apps you use
• Usage data is processed entirely on your device
• We cannot see which specific apps you open or how long you use them

Superwall (Subscription Management)

We use Superwall to manage our subscription paywalls and verify purchase status. When you interact with subscription screens or make a purchase, Superwall may receive:

• Device identifiers for subscription verification
• Purchase and subscription status
• Basic app interaction events (e.g., paywall viewed)

Superwall does not receive your personal information, screen time data, or which apps you block.

Apple

In-app purchases are processed through Apple's App Store. Apple handles all payment information according to their own privacy policy. We never see your payment details.

We want to be clear about what we don't do:

• We don't collect or store your screen time data on our servers
• We don't know which apps you use or block
• We don't track your location
• We don't use advertising or ad tracking
• We don't sell your data to anyone
• We don't use analytics that track your behavior
• We don't sync your data to the cloud

All your personal data is stored locally on your device using Apple's UserDefaults with App Groups (for sharing between the main app and extensions). This data is:

• Protected by your device's security (passcode, Face ID, etc.)
• Included in your iCloud backup if you have that enabled
• Deleted when you uninstall the app

You have full control over your data:

• Delete your data: Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data
• Revoke Screen Time access: Go to Settings → Screen Time → Unpilot to remove permissions
• Manage subscriptions: Control your subscription in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions

Unpilot is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new policy within the app. Your continued use of Unpilot after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
